Harsh winter becomes a weapon in Russia’s hands. Continuous attacks on energy networks, water systems and railway infrastructure force Ukraine cities into darkness and cold. Millions of lives are at risk due to the lack of electricity, water, and heat.
A new level of threat
Russia is deploying increasingly fast jet-powered drones and fiber-optic-controlled drones that are resistant to standard signal-jamming methods. They fly over roads, railway lines and cities sowing panic and terror.
Trains are being halted, passengers evacuated and forced to wait out in the open fields. Gas stations are covered with camouflage netting. Firefighters are deploying smaller crews, while humanitarian aid is delivered in increasingly dangerous conditions.
This is not a series of isolated incidents. The constant threat from the air fuels fear, while repeated attacks on much needed infrastructure increase the risk of another humanitarian crisis.
These are the conditions in which Ukraine is entering another winter.
How do we help?
Since 2014, we have been working for Ukraine, providing humanitarian aid and rebuilding public services. We support internally displaced families and people with disabilities. We deliver food, hygiene products, and agricultural tools. We renovate outpatient clinics, support hospitals, and local emergency services. We rebuild homes and buildings destroyed as a result of military actions, restore transport and municipal services. We support professional activation, and provide children and young people with safe places to learn. Thanks to our activities, thousands of families receive real support, security, and a chance for a normal life despite the war.
