[PHOTOS] Gordhim clinic and nutrition center. PCPM helps

The conflict in northern Sudan has destabilized the entire region and neighboring countries. It has led to the disintegration of the country and massive population displacement. The influx of refugees into South Sudan exacerbates the country’s food crisis. The depletion of food supplies is leading to starvation, especially among children under the age of five, who are most at risk of dying from malnutrition. PCPM is helping them in Gordhim.

Sudan’s civil war has also brought trade to a halt. The roads are too dangerous to travel on. The Aweil East region, where the Nutrition Center we support is located, gets most of its food supplies from northern Sudan due to historical trade links and the lack of roads connecting it to the rest of the country and neighboring countries. As a result, food prices are at unaffordable levels for locals.
