Telemedicine and mobile clinics. PCPM is helping in Palestine

PCPM has been working in Palestine for years, focusing on supporting the medical sector since 2021. Unfortunately, conditions are becoming increasingly complex, and it’s challenging for mobile clinics to reach patients. A partial solution to this problem is the telemedicine clinic. In 2025, two districts in Hebron and Jenin will be covered, and by 2026, seven out of nine districts in the West Bank will be included.
Over 300,000 Palestinians on the West Bank are in a unique situation, lacking access to permanent medical facilities. Even minor illnesses or conditions that wouldn’t normally be a problem can be very dangerous for these individuals. PCPM-supported mobile clinics and a developing telemedicine advisory service aim to meet their growing needs.
Unfortunately, the security situation in the West Bank continues to deteriorate, isolating many communities in Area C from essential medical services.
“Due to increased difficulties in movement, we have launched additional telemedicine consultations. This will allow residents to access medical help seven days a week, 12 hours a day,” says Ewa Jakutajć, project coordinator in Palestine.
PCPM estimates that by the end of 2025, four employed doctors will provide care to 24,000 people and conduct approximately 2,000 telemedicine consultations. In 2026, the project will cover seven districts inhabited by hundreds of thousands of people. The number of doctors participating in the project will increase to 10, with a predicted minimum of 5,000 consultations.
