Bundung Maternal and Child Health Hospital is one of the key maternal and pediatric hospitals in The Gambia. It is also the site where a project led by Polish Centrer for International Help (PCPM) was launched. The initiative aims to observe how the maternity, neonatal, and pediatric wards function, assess the hospital’s needs, and at the same time support the staff in their daily work.

In The Gambia, the PCPM Emergency Medical Team currently includes a midwife, a pediatrician, and a psychiatrist. For them, the first weeks on site mean not only continuous work in the hospital to support its operations, but also an intensive period of training, during which they share their knowledge and skills. The cooperation between the Polish and Gambian teams provides a valuable opportunity to exchange experience with local medical staff who work there every day.
