The Polish Centre for International Aid (PCPM) provides humanitarian aid in Syria, focusing on safeguarding the health and lives of people affected by the long-standing conflict. As part of a project supported by the Polish Aid programme of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland, we are providing specific medical aid and medicines, particularly for patients with chronic conditions and kidney failure, so that they can continue their treatment despite the difficult conditions in the country.
Thanks to funding from the Polska Pomoc programme in 2026, the PCPM Foundation can improve access to primary healthcare and emergency medical care in the Damascus and Rif Dimashq regions.
The project aims to provide the most vulnerable people with access to life-saving medical care by supporting healthcare facilities with equipment and supplies, as well as by retaining qualified medical staff.
Access to essential consultations, treatment, rehabilitation and assistive equipment will be improved for men and women, as well as girls and boys. People with disabilities and those requiring rehabilitation will have a better chance of recovery. Patients in emergency situations will also benefit from improved diagnosis and treatment. At the same time, continuity of care will be enhanced by securing the employment of doctors, physiotherapists and other medical staff.

Previous Activities
Polskie Centrum Pomocy Międzynarodowej (PCPM) wysłało domy modułowe do Syrii, zapewniając uchodźcom tymczasowe schronienie w obozach dla ofiar konfliktu. Fundacja współpracowała z partnerami, dostarczając stabilne konstrukcje mieszkalne, które chroniły przed warunkami atmosferycznymi i poprawiały bezpieczeństwo rodzin syryjskich.
Wspólnie z ONZ PCPM zbudowało centra kwarantanny w Syrii podczas pandemii, wspierając rodziny zagrożone chorobami w obozach. Te ośrodki umożliwiły izolację chorych i zapobiegły rozprzestrzenianiu się infekcji wśród bezbronnych uchodźców.
PCPM realizowało w Syrii projekty zapewnienia dachu nad głową, pomocy medycznej i wsparcia zimowego dla uchodźców dzięki wsparciu z Polski. Działania obejmowały opłacanie czynszów, dostawy opału oraz mobilne kliniki w obozach namiotowych.

By working with local partners – the Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC) and the Syrian Ministry of Health – we are able to distribute aid quickly and effectively.

PCPM has supplied specialist medicines, dialysis equipment and medical supplies to clinics. The Foundation also provides health centres with essential equipment such as wheelchairs, walking frames and stretchers.
PCPM has also provided support for medical staff, including by funding part of their salaries, which allows haemodialysis sessions and life-saving procedures to continue. The aid reaches both the most vulnerable residents and those returning to the country after years of forced migration.
