Thanks to donations from supporters and contributions from 1.5% of tax, PCPM has assisted Palestinian families displaced from the Jenin refugee camp in the West Bank. Many families, including children, were forced to leave their homes.

PCPM continues its work in Palestine in the West Bank, responding to the needs of Palestinian families affected by forced displacement. The total number of internally displaced people in the region is estimated at approximately 40,000. Prior to the escalation of the conflict, the Jenin refugee camp alone was home to around 17,000 people. All three camps – in Jenin, Tulkarm and Nur Shams, have been depopulated and left deserted.

Families were forced to evacuate immediately, taking only essential belongings, believing that they were leaving their homes for a short period of time. Meanwhile, the Jenin camp has remained closed for over a year, and access to the area in order to retrieve personal belongings is still not possible.

While most displaced families have found shelter in collective accommodation, with relatives, or in rented apartments, around 600 families are still staying in a facility located on the campus of the Arab American University in Jenin. It should be noted that these are not formal humanitarian assistance centres, but temporary shelters in academic buildings, intended as a short-term solution. The facilities are not adapted to winter conditions or to long-term residential use.

As part of its support, PCPM provided vouchers for the purchase of winter clothing, enabling families to meet the basic needs of children. This assistance is a direct result of donor solidarity and provides tangible support to those most affected.
