PCPM Foundation and ORLEN Foundation Will Help Medical Professionals from Ukraine with Diploma Recognition

Thanks to funding from the ORLEN Foundation, the PCPM Foundation is launching a program to support doctors, nurses, and other medical specialists from Ukraine in the process of recognizing their diplomas in Poland. The program offers 50 places along with additional Polish language courses, with a special focus on medical vocabulary.
This support is a response to the procedural and financial challenges faced by medical professionals from Ukraine who wish to pursue their profession.
“The recognition process is extremely costly and time-consuming—it often takes over three months, and many people do not have the means to complete it on their own. Thanks to this support, we can genuinely help specialists return to work in their profession,” emphasizes Ewa Grodek, project coordinator at the PCPM Foundation. This is not the first project of this kind by the Polish Center for International Aid. “We have already helped hundreds of teachers with diploma recognition. Now they support the Polish education system. We are expanding this to medical professionals,” says Ewa Grodek.
The project also responds to the need for integrating people with refugee experiences into Polish society and economy. Support in diploma recognition and language learning enables them to use their acquired skills, which simultaneously increases the availability of qualified medical assistance for patients in Poland.
“The ORLEN Foundation supports PCPM’s activities under the slogan ‘Strong locally, resilient globally.’ The diploma recognition program is direct assistance for specialists who want to return to work and integrate with Polish society. At the same time, through the second part of the project—support for Polish NGOs within the POP Fund—we are building lasting social resilience across the country,” says Zofia Kwolek, Member of the Board of the PCPM Foundation.
“Cooperating with PCPM guarantees us that the help reaches where it is truly needed. Together, we can effectively support medical professionals from Ukraine in returning to their profession and thus genuinely strengthen the Polish healthcare system,” says Katarzyna Harpak, President of the ORLEN Foundation Board.
The PCPM Foundation encourages people with refugee experiences who hold diplomas related to medical professions to apply to the program – link.
