Blackouts in Kyiv and Bucha. PCPM Delivers Emergency Generators [PHOTOS]

Millions of Ukrainians are currently facing severe electricity shortages. In Kyiv alone, up to one million residents experience daily power and heating outages lasting several hours. The situation is no better in Bucha, near the capital, where temperatures during freezing nights drop to well below zero.

Bucha – a symbol of the tragedy from the early days of the full-scale invasion is once again under regular missile strikes and drone attacks. Damage to energy infrastructure and power transmission facilities has plunged the city and surrounding communities into prolonged blackouts. Exhausted by years of war and overwhelmed infrastructure, residents struggle daily without electricity and heating. Darkness affects not only homes, but also schools, hospitals, and support centers, where people seek warmth, a chance to charge their phones, and even a brief sense of safety.

For many residents of Kyiv, which is also regularly shelled, the only way to stay warm is by using temporary heating tents set up in residential courtyards. However, each of these tents requires a power generator to function.

In this critical situation, the Polish Center for International Aid (PCPM) continues to support those in need. Generators purchased by the organization will help families in Bucha – a town that once captured the world’s attention at the beginning of the war, and whose residents now once again urgently need assistance.

This is what Bucha looks like at the end of the fourth year of the war.

The Polish Center for International Aid is calling on Polish donors to support humanitarian assistance in Ukraine. Donations will make it possible to purchase generators and deliver rapid aid where it is needed most.
