We train medics in the West Bank in Palestine (2019)
Together with the Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS), the PCPM is designing a training system and a homogeneous set of guidelines for paramedics in the West Bank. The scheme envisages the recruitment of new personnel and the training of crews already in the field.
Another goal of the programme is to increase the qualifications of the Palestinian Emergency Response and Rescue Team that provides help beyond Israeli/Palestinian borders.
In addition, the Polish NGO will equip the PRCS’ ambulances and a rescue team in the Palestinian city of Ramallah. Moreover, PCPM and PRCS are working to introduce nationwide rules for paramedics’ employment.
First aid training is also provided to the inhabitants of Area C (Hebrew: שטח C), which is an administrative division of the West Bank.
The new scheme from PCPM is a follow up to previous programmes that revolved around increasing medical rescue standards in the West Bank. One such action involves providing training to physicians, nurses, rescuers and members of civil defence forces subordinate to the Palestinian International Cooperation Agency (PICA).
