Director – International program development (Polish language preferred)

PCPM – Polish Center for International Aid is one of the leading Polish INGOs, operating in Ukraine, Lebanon, oPt, Ethiopia, South Sudan, Kenya and Tanzania. PCPM has three pillars of operations: 1) refugee and social programs in Poland; 2) humanitarian and development programs abroad and 3) operation of the WHO-classified Emergency Medical Team. As part of its new programmatic approach, PCPM aspires now, funding permitting, to open humanitarian and/or development operations in new geographic and sectoral areas.

Responsibilities:

  1. Participate in development of and take lead in implementation of strategy of expanding PCPM’s program presence abroad of Poland.
  2. Set up or expand PCPM program presence abroad in selected counties, including identification of programs and local partners, establishing and registering local presence as appropriate, implementing initial program activities.
  3. Supervising PCPM project teams and staff in designated countries of PCPM program presence.
  4. Apply for institutional and other funding to set up or expand PCPM program presence abroad in selected counties, which includes developing project proposals.
  5. Undertake frequent travels and field missions to the countries of current and prospective PCPM program presence abroad of Poland.
  6. Contribute video and other materials to PCPM fundraising activities.
  7. Actively participate in media interviews and other related activities.

Requirements:

  1. Proven experience in humanitarian crises and implementation of donor-funded humanitarian / development aid at the medium management level or above,
  2. Familiarity with and proven experience in securing institutional donor financing, including EU institutions, UN Agencies, USAID and other donors as appropriate.
  3. Flexibility to undertake field missions with a short advance notice.
  4. Fluency in English and knowledge of at least one more language relevant to the current or prospective countries of PCPM program presence.
  5. Fluency in Polish would be a major advantage.
  6. Citizenship of a EU Member states or another country with a privileged access to the Polish labor market.

Working arrangements

  1. Preferred: part-time work from Warsaw with part-time travels or field missions. Alternative working arrangements possible.
