Kenyan firefighters trained by PCPM conducted a series of educational demo shows for the local population

Residents of the towns of Muranga and Ruiru in central Kenya could see and learn how to fight a fire and how to help victims of a car accident as local firefighters organized demo shows of their skills in both towns. Earlier, thanks to the initiative of the Polish Center for International Aid (PCPM), they were trained by Polish specialists.

“When I fell into the well, I didn't believe that anyone would be able to help me. Our firefighters pulled me out thanks to the equipment and training they had previously received from the Poles,” says Hannah Wangan Naju, from the village of Raiyahi in central Kenya. She is one of many people whose life was saved by local firefighters thanks to training received from specialists from Poland initiated by the PCPM Foundation.

“I give PCPM the highest praise for the implementation of these projects. The establishment of fire brigades is not only an increase in safety in our entire county, but also an opportunity for young people to work,” said Kimani Wamatangi, the governor of Kiambu County, during a visit to the training center for firefighters created by PCPM. Polish specialists, thanks to the PCPM initiative, at the center in Kiambu have already trained 60% of all firefighters in Kenya.

Thanks to the initiative of the Polish Center for International Aid (PCPM) in Makueni County (southern Kenya), one new fire station was built and the other was expanded. The county governor emphasizes the huge role of this project and plans to create four more fire stations.

Polish instructors are training firefighters in Kenya. And they’re doing it brilliantly!

The PCPM Foundation runs Kenya's largest firefighter training program. Thanks to the Foundation's project. More than 60 percent of all firefighters in the country have been trained, A total of more than PLN 14 million has already been invested in Kenya through this project.

New fire station in Makindu, Kenya thanks to Polish aid and PCPM Foundation

Thanks to Polish Aid funding, PCPM is piloting a cost-effective fire station design. On 22 July, the Polish Ambassador accompanied by PCPM CEO inaugurated a new fire station in Makindu, Makueni County.
