Poland Emergency Medical Team and the challenges in facing the COVID-19 pandemic

Working in hospitals without running water and with limited access to medicine and oxygen supply, shortage of medical staff, building trust among medical professionals and mindfulness of cultural differences- these are some of the many challenges that the Poland Emergency Medical Team PCPM had during the pandemic of the COVID-19.

Poland Emergency Medical Team PCPM recruiting!

Out of nearly a hundred applications from medics of various specialties, nearly forty qualified for the field recruitment stage of the Poland Emergency Medical Team PCPM and tested their skills in simulated but difficult actions. For many hours the recruits tested their skills, resistance to stress, speed of decision-making, creative thinking and teamwork skills, but most of all they verified their medical knowledge in simulated rescue operations.

The help of the PCPM Foundation has reached South Sudan!

A special food truck has arrived at its destination - the Gordhim Nutrition Center. For the fifth time, the PCPM Foundation was able to support the center located in the red zone on the hunger map. Thanks to individual contributions from each of you - thank you very much.

PCPM provides specific help in Poland

We share our knowledge and equipment. We support those who have been fighting for our health and life in Poland for weeks. The medical staff can participate in our psychological and diabetes consultations. We don’t ignore people who found themselves in the most difficult situation during pandemic. So, our next action is – masks! We inform, sew, distribute! Our support is directed to home hospices and homeless people who will ask for it.

PCPM’s Emergency Medical Team deploys to Italy

Poland Emergency Medical Team PCPM, classified by the World Health Organisation (WHO), will deploy to Italy. Polish medical staff will support combat with coronavirus in the frontline field hospital at Brescia, in a region of Italy most heavily affected by the epidemics. At the same PCPM has deployed modular houses to North-West Syria, contributing to coronavirus prevention in overcrowded camps for internally displaced.
