Record number of people facing critical lack of food in South Sudan

A record number of almost seven million people in South Sudan, more than 60 percent of its population, are facing severe hunger, according to a new report published by ReliefWeb. The situation is getting worse day by day. That's why Polish Center for International Aid works in Gordhim now.

Poland has sent therapeutic food to South Sudan

Polish Center for International Aid collected funds and bought therapeutic food for famine-ridden South Sudan. The sent food will help over 800 children. Transport has been dispatched from Kenya and will arrive in few weeks to Nutrition Center in Gordhim.

Heavy rain in South Sudan makes providing food for starving people impossible

The rainy season in South Sudan, where also PCPM supports starving people, makes 70% of the country cut off from access to food aid. The UN throws food out of the air to help people in inaccessible areas.

Crisis in South Sudan. PCPM helps children survive hunger

7 million population of South Sudan is affected by hunger at this moment. The aid organizations, which provide and distribute food from outside, bring mainly sorgo – dry food for adult people. PCPM is the only organization, which supports Nutrition Center in Gordhim and provides the food for children under five.

Summary of PCPM’s aid programme in South Sudan

More than 8 thousand people have received medical and food aid in the Nutrition Center in Gordhim (South Sudan), supported by PCPM Foundation. Instead, in neighboring Uganda, two specialists were hired to work in health centers that treat hundreds of patients a day. Helping the Sudanese families was possible thanks to the input of Polish donors.
